I plan for the time being to stick with Affinity Photo which does handle Photoshop files with no problems. For my part the trial version of ON1 2023 fails to import Adobe Photoshop psd files and so is no better than previous versions. If you like ON1 then it may be worth the upgrade. I haven't upgraded to the 2023 version just yet but more than likely it will be happening soon. There are certain aspects of it that has me using LRCC instead based on a certain image and the outcome it produces. I've been using it since the 2018 version and upgraded through the years and have come to enjoy using it. I can only speculate about compatibility of ON1 2023 with Ventura for MacOS. Not everyone is having trouble with ON1 even with Nvidia cards. I have my laptop set to only use the Nvidia card installed. tiff and have not had any problems at all. dng files from PL5 & used the new AI features, then output as both. I have an older laptop with decent specs(i7-7700HQ, 16gb RAM & 4 gb vRAM) and a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti card with the latest Studio (not gaming) driver. Not good to hear since my new laptop has NVIDIA card…….guess I won’t waste my time at this point[/q ![]() Crashed every time, but again, it may be because I'm doing something wrong. IIRC I was attempting to select specific figures within the Windmill practice jpg. Nary a glitch that is more easily accountable for by my inexperience with ON1, although I have had 3 crashes I've sent reports to Apple about. My 2017 iMac running Intel chip has Radeon PRO 580 w/ 8g RAM. Many of the ways their software works is anything BUT intuitive like I find DXO Photolab. Processing in general, especially conventional masking (not the new AI one of 2023 version) makes me crazy. It's not always my choice as I have a couple others (DXO and Topaz) but on occasion it's the best results. Would be nice if craw files were supported as the R7 buffer needs help on raw bursts. I have ON1 2022 and they gave me a free upgrade to ON1 2023. I'm changing systems from Canon to Olympus, so if any of you are Oly users, any info you could offer me, I'd be grateful. Of course, it suits my workflow, but due to personal preference, may not suit yours. I have used it since 2017, and the improvements have been substantial. IMO, the above is an accurate assessment of ON1. Nonetheless, I find it is a solid DAM which doesn't lock one into cataloging and it enables a high quality, efficient workflow. Recognize that it isn't a pixel level editor and as such it cannot accomplish some of the things that PS can. PR has improved in terms of stability and performance over the prior iterations. I’m more interested in their plugins than the Raw editor.ĭefinitely would wait until the new version and then download a free 30 day trial. But if you purchase now you do get the new version for free. Might be worth waiting to see how the reviews are for it before purchasing. ![]() The new 2023 version comes out in October. I also get a slight discount as a previous owner. I have an older version of this and was wondering If its worth it for the upgrades, especially the new AI masking feature.
